Help Our Little Miracle, Fight Congenital Leukemia
Our beautiful daughter, Mira, is now 10 months old, and she has been fighting the biggest battle of her life since the day she was born.
Mira’s journey began with uncertainty and fear. When she was born prematurely, what should have been one of the happiest moments of our lives quickly became a time of worry. Because she arrived earlier than expected, the doctors were immediately concerned about her delicate condition and knew that she would need close medical attention and careful monitoring.
We remember those first moments after her birth, when all we wanted was to hold our baby girl, hear that she was okay, and bring her home. Instead, we found ourselves surrounded by doctors, nurses, hospital equipment, and questions about our tiny daughter’s health. We were trying to understand what was happening while praying for our precious baby to be strong.
As the doctors examined Mira and carried out further tests, they discovered that something was seriously wrong. We were eventually given the devastating diagnosis that our precious little girl had congenital leukemia, an incredibly rare and serious form of leukemia that affects newborn babies.
Hearing those words changed our lives forever. Our daughter had only just entered the world, and already she was facing an illness that no parent ever expects their child to endure. The joy of welcoming our long-awaited baby was suddenly mixed with fear, uncertainty, and the painful realization that her journey would be very different from what we had imagined.
The months since Mira’s birth have been filled with hospital visits, medical examinations, constant monitoring, and difficult moments that no family should have to experience. Instead of spending these precious early months simply watching our daughter grow, we have had to navigate the frightening world of serious childhood illness and specialized medical care.
There have been days filled with worry, sleepless nights, and moments when we have felt completely helpless. Watching our little girl undergo tests and medical procedures has been heartbreaking. Every hospital visit, every new update from the doctors, and every uncertainty about her health has weighed heavily on our hearts.
But through it all, Mira has continued to show us a strength that amazes us. At just 10 months old, she is already our little warrior. She has faced more than most babies ever should, and yet she continues to bring light, love, and hope into our lives.
Mira is not just our daughter. She is our miracle.
We prayed, hoped, and waited for a very long time to welcome her into our family. When she finally arrived, she filled our hearts with a love we never knew was possible. Her smile, her tiny hands, her little expressions, and every precious moment we get to spend with her remind us why we must keep fighting.
We never imagined that our long-awaited daughter would have to face such a serious illness from the very beginning of her life. But no matter how difficult this journey becomes, we will never stop loving her, supporting her, and doing everything we can to give her the best possible chance at a healthy future.
Unfortunately, while we do have medical aid, it does not cover all the expenses associated with Mira’s condition and ongoing care. The costs of her treatment, hospital stays, medications, specialist consultations, medical tests, transportation, and other unexpected medical needs have placed a tremendous financial burden on our family.
Caring for a child with a serious illness also comes with many additional expenses. As parents, we want to spend every moment focused on Mira, being there for her appointments, supporting her through treatment, and making sure she feels safe and loved. However, the financial strain has become increasingly overwhelming.
